Hsin Chen Chen has been serving traditional Hakka food in Gaoshu, a Hakka township, since 1985. The most popular dish, fried turnip cake, is a delicacy for locals and tourists alike.


The chef and owner, Chia-Feng Liao, is also talented in music and art. He taught himself to play traditional Chinese instruments and writes lyrics for many Hakka songs. He is also an amateur painter. Customers can appreciate his works hung on the walls. If you are lucky, you may see him play an instrument and sing in the restaurant.
