Happy Bath House is located near the Ligang riverbank. The shop doesn’t have any conspicuous advertisements, however, it becomes a treasure house for those frequent customers who love healthy and organic products.

The shop was founded by Huang Lien Tsung (黃連宗), an experienced Chinese herbal medicine practitioner. He learned Chinese medicine from his grandfather and inherited the formula for making Chinese herbal medicine soaps. In recent years, Huang began seeing more and more people getting skin problems, such as eczema and allergic rashes, due to the degrading of the environment and the abuse of chemical preservatives. So he decided to devote himself to the study of handmade soap, using his abundant knowledge of Chinese herbal medicine. Up to now, he has successfully developed more than 40 unique kinds of handmade Chinese herbal soaps, and these health-preserving soaps have become the representative products of his pharmacy.


Huang insists on the high quality of his soaps. His soaps are 100% natural and free from artificial fragrance and colors. When choosing the ingredients, he liberally uses loofah extract instead of water. Precious substances and herbs, like premium pearl powder, ginseng, and Taiwanese adder’s tongue-fern, are often the base.

The soaps look plain; nevertheless, they are from the wisdom and effort of a half-century-old herbalist family. Many people, who use these healthy soaps, surprisingly get rid of their troublesome illnesses. With word of mouth, these healthy Chinese herb soaps have become cosmetics for many people, and medical staffs are their main customers.
