Why did you start to offer free after-school child-care service?
為何會開始推動免費的課後輔導？
We noticed that there are more and more children raised by
single-parents or grandparents in this area. Many of them are
from economically disadvantaged families.
For those children, education and homework are easy to be
ignored, As a result, children are more prone to deviant behavior,
emotional disturbance, or lower learning achievement and so
on.
This will deeply affect a child’s future development or social
achievement.
Therefore, we hope to provide these children with a free and
safe after-school environment, so that they can have normal
growth and educational opportunities.
We not only teach them in their school work and equip them with
the necessary skills of living, but also cultivate their personality
and give them more love and care.
我們注意到這個地區有越來越多的小孩來自單親或是隔代教養家
庭。他們許多也是經濟弱勢的家庭。這些孩子的教育或是家庭作
業經常會被忽略。
相對地，孩子們也較易有偏差行為、情緒困擾或學習成就低落等
現象，這會深深影響孩子未來的人格發展和社會成就。因此，我
們希望提供這些孩子一個免費又安全的課後安親環境，讓他們有
正常成長與受教育的機會。
不僅在學業和工作技能上教導他們，也在人格上培育他們，給他
們更多的愛與關懷。
